WhiskersWhiskers is a 1985 Yamaha XT600. It has already been to the Alaskan Arctic circle, Mexico, and traveled extensively in the Continental US. After 30,000 miles in two years Whiskers needs a little love, but will be ready to do it all again by August

The HammerThe Hammer is a 1986 Yamaha XT600. It is the newest bike to us and as far as we know its longest trip was from Texas to Utah. The Hammer needs a top end before we leave since it only runs on hi-octane fuel right now. It is in beautiful condition for a 30 year old motorcycle, but that will change soon enough.

WE WILL BE RIDING
...Vintage Dual-sport Yamaha XT 600’s: Whiskers and The Hammer. 30 and 31-years-old. Maybe it’s a bit over-the-top to have matching bikes, but identical bikes means interchangeable parts. We chose these bikes because they are relatively simple to work on, capable of running without a battery and lacking the complexity of modern electronics. No electric start, no problems. And also because there is something special about reviving these now classic motorcycles. These bikes have character. They have lived as much life as we have, and have proven that they are tough and up for a challenge. Whiskers and The Hammer will be as much characters in our lives and travels as we ourselves will be.
